Labrador Battery, currently located within Labrador Park, served as a battery for the Royal Artillery during World War II. It was manned by gunners from the 7th Coast Artillery Regiment, which was composed of individuals from various ethnic backgrounds. The battery had two 6-inch guns, with operations divided among different groups. Local Malays operated the searchlights, Indians were responsible for handling the guns, and British artillery regulars served as the NCOs and officers. Specifically, the Indians and British individuals were part of the Hong Kong and Singapore Battalion of the Royal Artillery (HKSRA).
