DEFINITION

Co-curricular activity groups in primary and secondary schools in Singapore that inculcate a sense of discipline in students.

ETYMOLOGY

uniformed groups are formed in schools to cultivate adaptability, compassion and a sense of responsibility in youths, with the hope that they can contribute to society in future.
There are mainly nine uniform groups in Singapore, namely

the Boys' Brigade, Girls' Brigade, Girl Guides, National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC), National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC), Red Cross Youth, St. John Brigade and Singapore Scout Association.

SAMPLE SENTENCE

This was the 15th edition of the biennial National Camp. 460 students from 120 secondary schools participated in the camp this year, which consist of students from nine uniformed groups such as National Cadet Corps (NCC), Girl Guides, National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC), Boys' and Girls' Brigade and National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC).
