Kong Chow, the old name for Xinhui district in Guangdong, was established in 1839 to provide temporary lodging for Xinhui's new immigrants. It is also the first Clan Association to welcome members of other Chinese dialect groups to join their Lion Dance Troupe, Dragon Dance Troup and Music and Opera Section, which adds vibrancy to the traditional association.
