Completed in 1996, Sri Siva-Krishna Temple was originally established in Sembawang in 1962. It is the only temple in Singapore dedicated to Lord Siva-Krishna, a unique deity that is a combination of Lord Siva and Lord Krishna. The temple was founded by P Kunjukrishnan, who cleared a plot of land and built a shed in which he set up a shrine. Following the death of the founder, a devotee named K Velautham took care of the shrine. As the number of devotees grew, a committee was formed to manage the shrine, which was named Sri Siva-Krishna Temple. In 1982, the temple was relocated to its current Marsiling Rise site when its original site was redeveloped. The temple was initially housed in a makeshift structure and in 1986, a committee led by Arumugam Sivalingam began efforts to build a proper temple. A ground-breaking ceremony was held in 1987 and the temple was completed and consecrated in 1996. The presiding deity is housed in the main sanctum, before which are small statues of two mounts: the bull of Lord Siva and Sri Garuda of Lord Krishna. The temple opened a four-storey extension in March 2022, which includes a multi-purpose hall, dance studio, classrooms and a roof terrace. People of all races and religions are welcome to use these facilities. In addition, the temple holds an annual street procession, during which the presiding deity is ferried in a chariot to bless devotees all around Woodlands.
